Alarm.com had a busy year. From smarter comfort and energy control to AI that actively deters intruders, here’s a plain-English tour of the newest features, and how AllSecure Systems can bring them to your home or business in Central Ohio.

Comfort & energy: smarter thermostats

Automation is where a security system starts to feel effortless, and Alarm.com’s thermostats connect and sync right alongside it. There are three to choose from: the entry-level T25, the full-color T40, and the Thermostat HQ, which has its own cellular connection and can even act as a hub. Setting schedules, taking control from the app and dialing in the comfort of your home is genuinely easy.

Protection that acts: AI Deterrence

A good video system should do more than react after the fact, it should proactively protect your property. AI Deterrence uses generative AI and Alarm.com’s video analytics to detect a person entering your property and deliver a customized spoken warning. Instead of a generic alarm tone, the camera might say, “You in the orange polo walking by the car, this property is protected, please leave immediately.” It’s far more engaging than a standard audio warning, and the aim is to stop trouble at the perimeter before it ever reaches you.

Eyes on site: Remote Video Monitoring

Remote Video Monitoring puts a trained operator behind your cameras. If someone enters a restricted area, operators can pull up the cameras, see what’s happening on site, and engage a potential intruder with two-way audio. They can also reach out to you to confirm whether it’s a genuine emergency or a false alarm so the situation can be de-escalated. Use it as a standalone service, or pair it with AI Deterrence to build a real moat of protection around your property.

People-first safety: My Circle, Safety Button & Indigo

Alarm.com’s Personal Safety and Awareness line looks after people, not just places. My Circle is a family-safety feature built into the app. The Safety Button is an in-app panic button with 24/7 professional monitoring, plus widget access and features like Check-in (a safety check-in you can plan for moments you feel at risk), Emergency Contacts and Notes for context during an event. And the new Indigo wearable brings that safety and independence with you on the go.

Commercial video: the Prism Series™

Meet Alarm.com for Business’ newest line of commercial cameras. The Prism Series pack 8MP resolution and VividNight™ technology for full-color images even in near-dark scenes. They’re deterrence-ready, able to detect a trespasser at night and respond with a built-in strobe or a loudspeaker warning from AI Deterrence or a live central-station operator. They also record onboard and are plug-and-play, so they’re quick to deploy.

Security on wheels: the Mobile Security Trailer

The Alarm.com Security Trailer can pair with a permanent system so a property and its trailer are managed from the same portal. It has an alarm panel inside, so you can place sensors around a site’s perimeter and trigger the trailer for deterrence and response, total premise protection, not just a single unit. A software layer tracks battery level, solar charging and cellular performance so you can monitor trailers out in the field.

Smarter awareness: AI Video Event Search & Familiar Faces

AI Video Event Search lets you search recorded clips in plain language, think “yellow lab in the backyard last week” or “man carrying a ladder last Tuesday.” The system scans clip thumbnails to surface the most relevant footage, and it works across Alarm.com cameras and many integrated third-party cameras. Familiar Face Analytics, available on the VDB775 video doorbell, lets you create up to five familiar-face profiles and set rules to notify you when a familiar, or unfamiliar, face appears at the door.

More devices, more reach

The Alarm Universal Communicator works with almost any security panel that has a phone-line output, turning it into a connected alarm system on the Alarm.com platform, so budget can go toward video and other capabilities. It’s a great example of how the ecosystem keeps expanding.
