The challenge has always been finding those tools quickly, which is exactly what the latest update solves.

What’s new: shortcuts on the Locks screen

Alarm.com added shortcuts to the top of the Locks Feature Screen to make everything easier and faster to find. Instead of digging through menus, you get a clear entry point into your lock settings, with the most important tools front and center:

  • Manage user codes, add, edit or disable a code for each person.
  • Set up automation rules, schedules and scenes so doors lock and unlock on their own.
  • View lock notifications, see lock-specific activity at a glance.
  • Manage Wi-Fi locks, faster setup and control for connected locks.

Why it matters

The result is faster setup, less digging and more confidence that you’re getting everything out of your system. Everyday interactions, letting the kids in, giving a contractor temporary access, making sure the house is locked at night, become a smarter, more connected experience.

Can I create separate lock codes for family members or guests?

Yes. On the Alarm.com platform you can create a unique code for each person and manage them all from the Locks screen. You can see who unlocked the door and when, and disable a code at any time, handy for family, dog walkers, cleaners or contractors.

Can my doors lock or unlock automatically?

Absolutely. Because the lock is part of your wider Alarm.com system, you can build automation rules, schedules and scenes, for example, auto-lock every night at 11 p.m., or unlock the door and disarm the system when a valid code is entered.

Where do I manage my smart locks in the app?

From the Locks Feature Screen. The new shortcuts along the top give you a clear entry point into lock settings, with quick access to user codes, automation rules, lock-specific notifications and Wi-Fi lock management.

Do the shortcuts work with Wi-Fi locks?

Yes. The shortcuts include Wi-Fi lock management, so setup and everyday control are faster whether your lock connects over Wi-Fi or through your security panel.
